The field of special education dictates the need for a multidisciplinary team under the auspices and supervision of a child psychiatrist. A specialized rehabilitation center must contain a child psychiatric examination department. Physician and specialist therapists (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, special educators, physiotherapists and psychologists) are collectively involved with the child, whether they take on the child themselves at a conference or their colleagues, since scientific and therapeutic exchange is often required in terms of diagnosis, objectives, methodology and intervention. The Special Children's Centre of Attica in Peristeri has been working very closely with child psychiatrists from the very beginning and for the last 11 years with Mr. Nikolaos Zouros, who is also the scientific director, so all children and their families have the opportunity to meet him regularly and discuss all the concerns that arise in the family. Our Child Psychiatrist
The Child Psychiatrist of our Centre, Mr. Nikolaos Zouros, has a great deal of experience in the field of special education, having been attending children of all ages and their families for the last 20 years. Consistent and dedicated to his science, he works with dedication and utmost interest giving the right diagnoses and the appropriate intervention instructions for all children, He participates in the interdisciplinary team of our Center on a monthly basis after examining children for whom either a consultation is needed or guidance as to parents or therapists.
She is one of the most important members of our team and it is impressive the level of knowledge she possesses and the caring relationship she develops with the children.
