Child Psychiatric Examination Centre in Peristeri

The field of special education dictates the need for a multidisciplinary team under the auspices and supervision of a child psychiatrist. A specialized rehabilitation center must contain a child psychiatric examination department. Physician and specialist therapists (speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, special educators, physiotherapists and psychologists) are collectively involved with the child, whether they take on the child themselves at a conference or their colleagues, since scientific and therapeutic exchange is often required in terms of diagnosis, objectives, methodology and intervention. In essence, when a special education centre does not collaborate with a child psychiatrist, it loses its meaning, its medical coverage, its existence and its entity.

The Special Children's Centre of Attica in Peristeri has been working very closely with child psychiatrists from the very beginning and for the last 11 years with Mr. Nikolaos Zouros, who is also the scientific director, so all children and their families have the opportunity to meet him regularly and discuss all the concerns that arise in the family. Thus our centre offers a safety net under the auspices of a child psychiatric care in which all members of our therapeutic community work as a team and in an integrated manner.

Our Space in Peristeri

The place of this examination must be warm, functional and spacious to accommodate all members of a family. Thus, ours serves all the above since it has the space, the equipment and the assessment tools needed for the child psychiatric examination, as well as several enticing toys placed in a well thought out way to achieve immediate communication with the child and consequently the examination.
